On Saturday, the following choir and band students had great performances at District Music Festival

Trey Eplin and Brandon Jones from Sullivan Middle School were selected to the 2015 East Central Missouri Junior High All District Band. This year’s group rehearsed and performed on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Ste. Genevieve High School under the direction of Mr. Larry Clark from Carl Fischer Publishing in New York, New York. Their selection was based on the recommendation of Mr. Chuck Moore and Ms. Jocelyn Garner. This year’s band has 109 members from 29 middle/junior high schools in our area.
Kelsey Moore, Makenzie Sisney, Zachary Martin, and Wyatt Schmidt from Sullivan High School were selected by audition to the 2015 East Central Missouri High School All District Band. This year’s group rehearsed and performed on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Ste. Genevieve High School under the direction of Keith Ruether.
In addition, Kelsey Moore earned third chair in the Missouri All State band by audition on Saturday, December 5, 2015. This will be her fourth year in the group which performs at the Missouri Music Educators Association conference at Tan-Tar-A Resort on January 30, 2015.
Kelsey was also selected into The NAfME All-National Concert Band, an ensemble that represents the top performing high school musicians in the United States. The All-National Honor Ensembles meet at the Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center in Grapevine, Texas under the baton of leaders in the field of music education November 10-13, 2016.
Additionally, Kelsey was accepted to the Honor Band of America. Since its inception in 1992, the Honor Band of America has earned a national reputation as one of the nation’s finest student concert honor bands. With the opportunity to rehearse and perform with renowned conductors and world-class guest artists, to premiere new commissioned works for concert band and perform for a “dream audience" of outstanding high school musicians and educators from across the country, the Honor Band of America is a “must" for the finest young musicians. The 2016 Conductor will be Richard Floyd, State Director of Music (ret.), University of Texas at Austin Music Director, Austin Symphonic Band.
